PS4 game crash during atmospheric entry of Kerbin.

While attempting to bring a small command module back to Kerbin from orbit the game is crashing. As soon as the module starts to heat up in the atmosphere the crash happens. It happens every time without fail. 

I have console language set to English and have deleted common data prior to starting the game but no change. I have tried with and without time warp, again no change. The module I am attempting to bring back is a mk 1 command module.

I have the same problem, came here to check for a solution, keeps crashing with CE-34878-0 on re-entry on career mode and replicated the same problem in sandbox with identical craft. Deleting common data, deleting and reinstalling game or updating system software doesn’t work. 

Im on PS4 Pro with Radial control preset.

Same for me, its not only at reentry, it also happens during ascend.

Same issue here, on takeoff, moments after aero fx show up. Every time. On non-pro PS4. My guess is a memory leak either in visual or physics. Will try different crafts later when back from work. Only since latest update.

[edit] Looks like a tough one to identify; rebuilding the same craft in a different save will cause have the same result (i.e. crash the game) but so far adding/removing/replacing any part on it will prevent the bug ... investigation continues.

That problem fixed its self for me, no more problems/crashes at ascend or descend anymore, havent changed anything

I had the same issue on a reentry quicksave. Nothing I did could stop it. Tried for nearly an hour before I gave up the whole mission and started a new save. I’ve since had the problem again with a different ship, but I save before every launch just in case, so I can add a cheap part to change it. Seems to work.

I am having the same issue as you, when my MK3 shuttle goes through re-entry the game will crash. However the time it takes to crash varies, sometimes it’s instant or sometimes it takes until I’m almost through re-entry. I have checked for new updates but I’m to the latest version.

So I found out that none of this crash nonsense happens if you just play on a new world. I have tried a couple of things that I had encountered in my broken save where I cannot re-enter and none of it happens on the new save I made. Some other things that happened in the other world I was playing is where the landing gear sound wouldn’t stop after deploying them and won’t stop even after retracted, and the broken kerbal EVA glitch where you cannot control Kerbals and how they twirl around an axis.

Making a new world did not change anything for me, both take off and re entry crashes occurred both in a fresh career save and a fresh sandbox.
