I'm going under the assumption that pre-alpha KSP 2 is similar to the very early versions of KSP 1. However, I'm also not expecting something at the level of the trailer. Trailers should never be compared to the real game :P

While I agree trailers should not be compared with the real game, there should be a huge improvement from a small low budget team 10 years ago (Squad did an amazing job!).   KSP2 is now owned by Private Division/Take2, should be able to afford more, and use 2020 tech.  The Witcher 3 is nearly 5 years old, so expecting a full DX11/12 implementation is too much? Seems to me KSP2 is begging to be ray-traced for the deep-space high-contrast feel , you get the idea:   my 2-cents worth.

High contrast video example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFC71rFejvo

Huge areas in high detail is also possible. ALL of planet Earth is rendered here in real-time ACTUAL Pre-Alpha gameplay. This even has full weather and a fully working cockpit! Only requires a GTX 1070, 16 gigs RAM, 4-core CPU.  This gameplay looks better than the KSP2 trailer.

Here is an example of what the Unity engine ray-tracing is capable of in real-time.

An Nvidia demo in real-time.

Procedural fractally-landscaped planets done in 1982 no less.

Hey @StarCrusher96, do you think you could add in the old medium sized plasma engine to this planet pack? I wanted to build something similar to the old KSS StarChaser and the large Flux II and the aerospike don't really fit in. Thanks.

Cool and all but they're also trying to make it toaster friendly

Agree.  I'm hoping KSP2 doesn't get "dumbed down" too much.  Personally, I hope to see some advanced on/off settings.  Like N-body physics, speed of light = real SOL delays in radio communications & relays (need a pilot for deep space if you can't wait hours/days to get/send a probe response, YEARS if going interstellar in GU ! ), full life support (supplies, water, electric, agroponics, etc) like in USI, ray tracing  on/off (dedicated hardware or shader based)  Etc.

With all this, NASA, SpaceX, etc can use KSP for early planning for real missions to help find obvious problems.

Keep advanced setting off for simple (mostly early stock KSP1) missions,  just want to do SSTO or watch huge monstrosity rockets take off/blow up, etc.

red habitable moon. how interesting, i anxiously look forward to this.

i wonder what the vegetation and surface look like for it to be so red. seems as if it's in perpetual autumn, or perpetual bombardment of radiation.

i wanna fly there now.

reminds me of kepler 442-b, it's so red it's beautiful (even if an artist's rendition)

Artifexian made a video about how different star classes effect the color of vegetation. So, to get red plants, the star would have to be around mid K-class.

which means this could be around Kespilon Kirilani, which is a K class.

Vegetation colors are mostly assumed from the fact that plants use chlorophyll, but no one really knows what other chemistries can color plants on alien planets. (Earth centric views assume plants are all like the ones we know)

If so, why did you use red? Although it would make sense for planets around K-type stars.

It would also be black around M-type stars.

Our sun peaks in green radiation, that's why plants prefer to be green ... not all earth plants prefer it though. Our human eye is strangly also more sensitive to green light.
The plants on Rhan reacted on the higher reddish radiation. Red light however doesn't penetrate water very well, so you won't see much red in the oceans.

New Years is soon. I'd like to see at least a home system))

No offense but these guys are perfectionists. You could have a home system that is finished and good, or you could have a system that is a mess and unfinished and gross. Your choice.

Not only are both of us busy with school, but the home system isn't the top priority right now. We want to release our updated NK system, then the Kepsilon Kirilani System, then the home system. Judging by how long we take on each system, I can tell you it's 100% impossible for us to have a home system by New Year's, even if it was top priority :P

Don't see any mentions of principia, is it stable with n body physics? Im downloading right now to try it out without principia first because this looks like it would fit in amazingly with the mods I currently use (KSPIE and MKS/USI)

I honestly haven't tested it. Little busy with other stuff right now. But feel free to test it and share the results.

@StarCrusher97 hey man, just wanted to ask does this mod start you out in Nova kerbani to explore it, or still in the stock system? Is there a way to move the ksc to nova kerbani?

What exactly is the inner home system? And new homeworld? Is that a redoing of the stock system?

You start on Kerbin and there are certainly ways to start on another planet. Which will require a patch.

I was having so much fun trying to build a good interstellar power network I forgot to add principia back in xD
Great mod mate, I'm having an absolute blast with it :)
