Mod for color coding stage nodes?

Hello

I'm trying to organize my booster pairs stages so I can visually match boosters to their representative decouplers while staging. Placing the mouse cursor over a part highlights it but I'm looking for a more efficient way. I'm thinking color coding nodes in staging sequence or some other way of identification but I can't find it in Kerbal. Is there a mod for this job?

By extension, if there isn't such a mod what's the best place to learn about making mods?

Regards

We have a modding section here on the forums. Actually, it's right below the gameplay/tech support section you just posted in :P

I'll flag this post for a moderator to move over to Add-On Discussions. Temper your expectations, though - I've not seen a mod like this in all my time with KSP. That may be simply because nobody has seen a need for it just yet, or it might be that doing it is actually pretty difficult. KSP offers great and easy ways to implement new game mechanics, like a warp drive, but modifying the default UI is something else entirely. Not saying it's impossible, because very few things are, but it's likely one of the more advanced things a modder might attempt.

If you are willing to make the attempt yourself, head on over to Add-On Development, and have a look around the stickies and the three subforums. Particularly the one about C#. That's the programming language you'll have to use.

I think there was something like this at some point, back in the days when asparagus staging was a dominant design. I can’t think of the name though.
