Input lock KSP 1.7 modded

I'm having a strange problem with my 1.7 career play through. Periodically, I get a strange input lock where I can no longer control my attitude, nor move the camera or use keyboard shortcuts, but I can interact with the toolbar. The game keeps running (if I'm in a burn, it keeps going for example), but I can't interact with the game except when I use the toolbar, the return to space center button works as well. They only way I've been able to fix it is to shutdown the game via the task manager and reload. However, my current craft which I'm trying to get into a polar orbit around the Mun, has done this twice when I try to point normal.

Sometimes Input locks get hung up from a variety of sources.   Alt-f12 into the cheat menu, somewhere (I forget where) is a tab for "Input Locks", then click the "Clear Input Locks" button.   That should fix the problem.   If not..... well......  try that first.....

Unfortunately my Alt-F12 key has never worked. I believe this has something to do with my NVidia graphics card, but I've never been able to unbind Alt-F12 no matter what I did with my graphics card settings.

 

That said, I was able to avoid the issue by waiting to make a normal burn until after I'd made orbit around the Mun. Perhaps it had something to do with the proximity to the SOI change as I was making this burn just a few minutes after entering the Mun's SOI. Hopefully, I can avoid these issues in the future, but my game seems to be working fine now.

This doesn't look like an input lock issue caused by mods actually using input locks and conflicting.

You have a cascade of null reference exceptions. The game gets so overwhelmed that the flight simulation part of the code does not progress, and by extension, seems to stop processing inputs.

It looks like you were using some kind of input field, and it lost focus, e.g. you clicked outside of it. This fired TMPro.TMP_InputField.OnDeselect() and so on.

ManeuverNodeEditorTabVectorInput.OnNormalValueChanged() suggests that you had just been modifying the normal component of a maneuver using the new maneuver node editor feature.

NullReferenceException occured in ManeuverNodeEditorManager.UpdateDeltaVInNodeComponents(). We don't have access to that code so we can't know for sure what was null.

The root cause may not necessarily lie in the maneuver node editor. Something else in your modded install may be interfering with it.

Also, this may not actually be the actual error that started the cascade of other errors that are present in your log, it could be totally unrelated

Things break down because there is/are contract(s) in your game that don't have agent information, so when the contracts system gets asked to save its data, ConfigNode.AddValue() chokes.

This repeats again when Kerbalism switches vessel because that too triggers the contracts system to save its data.

I would look into what mods you have that provide or modify contracts.

So as a good starting point I suggest you look at what mods provide contracts and check their contract configs, and look into any mods that programmatically manipulate contracts data, or otherwise manipulate saves.

Or your save may just be stuck with some invalid (or rather, lacking) data. Is it carried over from an older KSP version by any chance?

I forget the exact combination, but it's shift-alt-F12 or Ctrl-alt-F12 or Fn-alt-f12 will bypass the nvidea controls....

As far as mods with contracts, the only one with contracts that I've found is SCANSat and Cormorant Aeronology, although I seem to recall either ProbesPlus or DMagic Science also having contracts in a previous save. However, no SCANSat contracts have appeared, nor any contracts from other mods as far as I recall. That said, I won't really have time to test through the mods before this weekend, so I can't say if one of them is causing the specific problem. I'll try to take some time this weekend however to reproduce the glitch with different mods installed.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try it next time I'm playing to see if that brings up the debug menu.

Just be careful.  One of them will bring up the cheat menu, the other formats the hard drive.   I forget which is which.
