Multi contract,one craft?

Recommended Posts

I'm playing career, and have picked up 3 contracts.

1, Jool course. Flyby Eve, Jool, laythe

2, Jool course. Flyby Duna, Jool, Eve.

3, satellite around Jool with a mystery goo.

My question is, can I use just one new craft for all of these? Or do they need to be separate craft?

You have to be careful when it asks you to use a "new" craft to accomplish the mission. (Especially, regarding what ships you dock to.)

But part of the point of the game is to nudge you into doing multiple contracts with a single mission. Doing multiples makes each contract trickier (because you can't customize the craft as much), but usually results in much greater monetary rewards.

So yes -- just one new craft can certainly do all three of these contracts, if you fly it right.

One thing I haven't been clear on with those Jool 3 (multiple flyby) contracts: Do they have to be done in order? That would make it harder (if not impossible)to do those first two contracts with the same craft. But no problem doing that third contract with one of the first two.

If a craft is already in flight, it will not count toward completing missions you subsequently agree to. So agree to multiple contracts first, then launch a ship to perform them. If you do that, there's no limit to how many contracts a single flight can fulfill.

No, the contract does not care about order.

Adding to all this, what people sometimes forget is that new contracts are added as time goes on. So if you have a vessel enroute to a destination to fulfill one, you get there and complete the contract then it is possible a new contract is given in the same SOI or even planet/moon so you can then even add more contracts before the mission ends.

As long as it doesn’t require a new vessel, i.e. one launched after the contract is accepted. Such as a rescue mission or “Science from...” mission would be good, but base or station missions usually need a new vessel (IIRC)

More like “Lucky dead dogg”! Those are cool contracts I haven’t seen. My contractors just want me to build and mine stuff.

They're 3-star contracts you'll start seeing once you visit enough interplanetary bodies.
