I think that some mods far surpass what the base game has done. For instance, life suport. However it is ridiculous to say that the developer can't improve the game creating its own, new life suport, just because there already are some LS mods our there. The game is theirs, isn't it? And they owe something to their console user customers too.

Go to the mod's forum page, start from the last page, them look for a discussion which occured one or two pages behind. There is a post there orienting you to download three files, and in which order to install them.

would it work if i just downloaded it through ckan?

also it said to download those files if i use joint reinforcement which i dont

You asked me how I did it, and that's how I did it. Didn't do it via CKAN. Also dont have joint reinforcement and did it like that anyway.

If the way to get it working involves downloading 3 files in a specific order based off a reply in a post it is likely a no to CKAN.

Have you tried infernal robotics next? It a continuation of infernal robotics and may work better with the newer Versions of KSP
