Very nice, but it does look... rather out of place and just kinda juts out. I hope you guys are going to make these ground features mix with their surroundings better.. because it's nice that we're getting these, but, well, it arguably just looks like they took a model and slapped it on the ground. Hope the other ones won't jut out like that.

Imo it stands out a bit too much from surroundings.  Still, im actually hoping more and more for a complete planetside texture revamp, the one absolutely desprately needed feature still left in bone stock that hasnt been touched thusfar.  But yeah, until then, i think its worth looking into how these things mesh with the ground.  rather then sticking straight upwards on the side walls, maybee make it have much shallower sloped sides so they sorta interface with the ground in a less janky way.  Crystals look like they outta stick out straight like the pics in the DLC announcement, but this looks way too unnatural without some blended sides that both match terrain sloping (or at least less pronounced bump up), and a texture change that makes either the ground itself (preferable) match the part (would req new textures), or makes the part that sticks up match the ground (so it doesnt look like its part of a different planet that somehow got misplaced on moho.

Finally, not sure if this would be supported without a major code overhaul, but if these "land features" could have some FX attached to them, even as simple as some smoke or fog coming out of the magma to make it feel more immersive.  Its technically possible to do this with EVE (albeit very inefficienctly and only if the feature is in a fixed location), but a stock ground fog/dust/smoke/lava eruption FX present on that feature would be absolutely amazing.

It's not just new textures that are needed to make things like this look more natural. KSP needs its ancient terrain shaders to be replaced with something a little more modern. You can easily blend objects like this into the surrounding terrain (without just stretching out the bottom of the object) and make it look like it belongs there if you are working with something a little more advanced.

There are supposed to be geysers on Vall. It/these had better have particles...And good ones.

For obvious reasons I'm not very impressed by the wrinkle ridge. It looks great when you observe only it. But you see the blandness of Moho even more clearly around it. Featureless brown planet --> interesting black fiery thing that should be a recessed terrain feature and not a protruding one... Or it should be a mini-biome on a planet that was made in advance with lava rivers and this scatter in mind.

I believe the planetary textures should be for everyone, and the DLC should just have the features and parts. If this continues next thing will be a Clouds DLC, Enhanced Water Textures DLC, Snow DLC, Weather Effects DLC, etc, etc,

(you get the idea)'

Maybe the surrounding ground texture should also be darker.

or perhaps an algorithm for blending features with surrounding area so that they can have cool, unique stuff on each planet without being stuck to the planet's basic structures

Yeah, sure. With all that red and orange still there?

actually we know that the moon used to have volcanoes because of reddish orange volcanic glass

I agree with several comments on here, it needs to blend into the surrounding ground a little.  It makes sense that they are added 'things' that just sit on top of the existing terrain, but maybe colour shade the bottom edges of the new features a bit to match the ground they are on a little better and visually 'fudge' the hard edges where they meet.

The model itself looks nice, but as others have said it just looks like it's been slapped there with no regard for blending it into the terrain. I hope we get improved planetary textures as well, because the current ones make this stand out like a sore thumb from the ground.

Still hyped for May 30 though! I look forward to more information on the DLC.
