Hi there, and welcome to the Real Enhancements development thread.

This mod aims to continue and expand pozine and imkSushi's Real Solar System Expanded mod. I plan to incorperate and restore the majority of objects in the mod

My aim is to create a modular experience, so people can download packages based on their interests and their ability.

I know this seems ambitious (especially RealStars, that one is going to take a while)

It is recommended to install RealPatch to fix inclinations, other wise the inclinations of newer objects will be broken

The current packs considered are (Green for released, Blue for patching/testing, Yellow for working on/partially created, red for queued, brown for released but not updating, purple for outsourcing (someone else is working on). These are roughly in order of estimated difficulty)

QoQ stands for Quality over Quantity update, fixing stuff

RealSkybox (will add a 4k skybox of the Milky Way, from the suns perspective. Requires TextureReplacer)

RealPatches (will add things like rings, asteroid fields, better textures etc)

Works perfectly with SSRSS

As i said i wanted the mod to be modular, and you will be able to download each package individually. So if you are less experienced with RSS/RO you can download the NEO package, and if you want a challenge you could download Stars or ExtremeTransNeptunian objects

I love this! Especially RealAsteroids and RSS patches, which I'm definitely going to try. But a few questions have come to my mind: will this ever support Principia? How would you get to those very far planets? Is KSPIE a non-official requirement?

To answer your questions:

Yes, Principia support is coming. It will come with RealPatch, and other configs will come with any other packages

Honestly, i have no idea how to get to the further planets. It is entirely possible with stock, but would require thousands, maybe millions of parts and unless you are using summit, it will be the slowest thing ive ever seen. To answer your question, you could get to the very far planets with great difficulty or mods

I mean, i guess the modpack is up to the user. Use it if you want. It isnt directly required, but recommended

Nice, good thing about principia support! Just an issue though, the RealMoons zip seems to be empty.

So it is. Managed to recover the files as i deleted them. Reformatted them, now testing. It should be back up in 10ish mins. I'm sorry for this, i didnt realise. Thanks for notifying me.

My username? No, it's a reference to Half-Life 2, in which the antagonists are refered to as our benefactors.

I warn you that the mod is still in testing, and many textures are temporary. So don't worry if you see the odd SpaceEngine texture :P

Why do I post this?

Because with Kopernicus useOnDemand = true all cache files are black.
So I created them.

Quote

Disable Kopernicus onDemand where you find it:
    %useOnDemand = False
    %useManualMemoryManagement = False

Don't forget to reenable it after the testing.

Delete the files in
GameData\ResonantOrbitCalculator\PluginData\Cache\
then start the game one time.
Get to the Main Menu, wait a minute and then exit the game.

The cache files will not be overwritten once created, so you could set up a test install with only the planets, make a backup of the created cache and then copy the cache directly over on reinstalling the mod.

You need at least:
