Xubol

A near-molten ball of salt and sand, Xubol is the first planet of the Kerbol System.

Eve

The jewel of the system, Eve is a mysterious planet, covered in oceans of liquid mercury, clouds of deep violet, and rings of crystal.

- Surface gravity: 1.35 g

Kerbin

The home of all Kerbals, and the only planet known to have life.

- Surface gravity: 1.0 g

- Semimajor Axis: 13,599,842 kilometers

Meander

A brilliant green gas planet, worshipped in years past as the god which created Kerbal-kind (it\'s green and so are they)

- Atmospheric density: 15.0 kb (at 50 km down)

Egar†

The second-largest moon of Meander, Egar is an interesting contrast. Half icy wasteland, half desert - enormous polar ice caps dominate this moon.

- Surface gravity: 0.7 g

Toshakona Belt

A ring of debris large and small stretching from just outside Meander\'s orbit to just inside that of Juniper.

Sothebin

Upon discovery it was touted as a 'Second Kerbin' - but that frenzy died down quickly after discover that the dark patches on its surface were dried basaltic lava, not oceans.

- Atmospheric density: 0.8 kb

Juni

The largest of the planets, Juni also boasts the largest ring system and most moons.

Junimu†

The largest known moon, and the only one with a ring system of its own, composed mostly of material stolen from the main rings of Juni.

- Atmospheric density: 0.8 kb

- Surface gravity: 0.8 g

Orbital parameters:

- Semimajor Axis: 59,000 kilometers

Mandrake & Rutherford

Possibly the strangest pair of planets this side of the galaxy, Mandrake and Rutherford are two brilliant blue gas planets orbiting one another, named for their siamese twin discoverer(s), Mandrake & Rutherford Kerman. How they formed is unknown, as is how long this configuration will last. Better hurry up!

- Radius: 3,100 kilometers & 2,900 kilometers respectively

- Rotation period: Tidally locked

- Atmospheric density: 20 kb (at 50 km down)

- Semimajor Axis: 67,663,175 kilometers

Orbital parameters (around the other planet):

DWARF PLANETS

Harvest

A reddish-brown miniplanet, it shares Kerbin\'s orbit, occupying its L4 Lagrange Point.

- Surface gravity: 0.02 g

Orbital parameters:

- Semimajor Axis: 13,680,255 kilometers

Ralph

An icy body, situated between Meander and Juniper.

Physical parameters:

- Radius: 110 kilometers

- Rotation period: 24 hours

- Atmospheric density: n/a

- Surface gravity: 0.12 g

Orbital parameters:

- Semimajor Axis: 37,399,500 kilometers

- Inclination: 8.6°

- Eccentricity: 0.15

Moons:

Nice chart. But it still looks a lot like our solarsystem. It would be nice, if it would also be a completely different system, regarding the distribution of rocky planets, asteroid belts, and the gas giants.

I'm trying to make it recognizable when compared to our solar system, but unique in most ways. I might expand upon it later, for the outer dwarf planets.

I love this idea.

I absolutlely in love with the idea of doing an entire space program, not necessarily just launching rockets and shootin for the moon, but an entire program. Sending satelites and probes to other planets and moons, gathering data on their atmosphere and composition and designing landers and probes for those atmospheres...

We could have completely alien planetary distributions in other, nearby systems. I like the idea of having the Kerbol system be fairly similar to the Sol system; it makes the game more accessible for new players. 'Oh, hey, it's familiar, but different, that's comforting, I can just use the tricks NASA did to get there!'

In fact, it'd provide us with a way to have both a consistent reference frame *and* randomness; make the Kerbol system and, say, the Proxima Kerbtauri system (about a light-year away, for a realistic distance that's close enough to make interstellar travel more feasible) be standardized in every game, but all other stars defined as 'within reach' would have random planetary systems instead of a specific one. That way, we have a nice, standard Kerbol system, and we know that we won't be disappointed when we go to the nearest star, but after that, we never know just what we'll get in another system!

It would also be great to have a Europa-like moon around Jaturn.

There already is one. Poosh.

2 - Egar is our planetary friend because once it helped us move. Also we play K-Box 360 every now and then.

3 - Surprisingly, U.B.O.R. is not named after its appearance, but after their discoverer Herr Doktor Werner von Useless Bits Of Rock.
