if my brain say the truth, IVA is when you are out of craft.

ok, if you are on Kerbin, there is a thing whe nyou right click called put a helmet. same on laythe.

if you are in space... proobably just a bug.

if it means in vehicle activity, than everything is correct.

That is EVA. Extravehicular Activity, not IVA

well that's impossible :(

It is? I remember back in the day there was a mod that removed helmets. The mod would remove helmets "in a safe environment" and they would not have helmets on but as soon as you lifted off the helmets would be on. It was weird but I didn't pay much attention to it.

ummmm i think you talk about KIS, but it is possible only in atmosphere and in EVA. Now we have for this a great 1.6 (1.5???) KSP version :(

My kerbals don't wear their helmets in IVA, and I wonder if there is a way to fix that.

I think there is a definition in the INTERNAL node that determines whether and what type of helmet they wear.

Iirc, they wear a fishbowl helmet only in the cupola.

I have not tested it, but this Module Manager patch uses a setting that is still in the documented API so should still work:

Edit: As written, the patch has effect only with certain pods, but you can change the first line to @INTERNAL[*] to affect all parts with an IVA.
