Upgraded tracking station.

Hi. I successfully visited mun using tips via youtube vids. Prograde burning just as mun came round horizon. After receiving funds etc, i upgraded the tracking station. Now when i try similar my path seems to go weird on me. Can someone point me towards a thread or help place which best describes how to navigate using the tracking station plz. Ta.

For flight planing the mission control building needs to be upgraded as well.

The upgraded tracking station tries to be helpful. Before you upgrade, the map just shows your orbit.

After you upgrade, the map checks to see if the Mun is on your path. If it is, the map shows what will happen to your ship when it gets near the Mun. So it is not "going weird" -- it is showing you more information than it was showing before. It actually checks every single celestial body to see if you will come close enough for their gravity to change your orbit. You can use this information to do flybys, and gravity slingshots. This extra information that it shows you is called "patched conics."

Thanks to all. It now makes sense. I was able to visit mun again. Its actually quite helpfull.  

Attempting to take tourists now and have encountered extra mass issues. Which should be simple enough to resolve via trial and error. Thanks once again.
