SSTO to Duna (no mining)

Well I feel like im skilled ENOUGH in the game enough to set this as a personal challenge. In the grand scheme of things this doesn't seem like TOO much of a challenge but it's already proving to be difficult. Just making this thread as a personal commitment and anyone else can participate if they want :)

Basically the challenge is (as the title suggests) to build an SSTO capable of making it to Duna and back to the Kerbin with the only rule being no mining. You get ten cool points for landing on the KSC runway though. I just always wanted to participate with these challenges and some seem overly complicated sooo i figured why not

edit:i also used the word inept before i realized it was the exact opposite of the word i wanted to use, im gonna fail this challenge

Cool @Reinhart Mk.1...

I have no idea of can i do SSTO to other bodies, all i did was only the K-Prize...no Extraplanetary Landings.

So, no mining?

A fuel depot in low duna orbit should do.

What stage would that be on?

Or are you going to launch it first?

OP,  you should probably add the further rule that you can't use any existing infrastructure or followup missions to help your ship out along the way.

Yeah thats why i said that ;)

I mean you could easily launch or use an existing fuel depot in orbit and under the current rules it would still qualify but be completely out of the spirit of this challenge. :)

Okay I knew i should have been more specific but no mining OR refueling, straight from the KSC to Duna and straight back to the KSC (though you can land on other celestial bodies if you have the delta v/fuel :) )

Congrats on your SSTO working! I was never able to get a small nuke powered craft to work for Duna, so I ended up using a much much heavier approach.

Thanks man! It's definitely difficult, most important thing is the launch (i added a bit too much rocket fuel for both ascents to i went a bit easier on myself. Don't get yourself down though, an SSTO is still an SSTO. I'm about to watch your video too! :)
