'The Martian' easter egg on Duna

Recommended Posts

So, basically, an easter egg on Duna that'd be referencing The Martian in some way. Comment what you think!

Ideas for the easter egg I've had so far:

  • MAV base
  • Hab somewhere on the ground
  • The rover, complete with RTG in the cab, perhaps near the Mars(or duna?) Pathfinder probe
  • A simple sign saying 'Mark Watney(/Kerman?) woz ere' or similar.

Here are Some:

  • The junk he threw out of the Ares 4 MAV
  • The MDV descent stage
  • Some of the rocks he arranged in morse code messages
  • Airlock one, on the ground
  • The signs he used to communicate with JPL before he reprogrammed the rover
  • A sign half buried with a string attached that says "ayyyyyyyyy"

MAV Base with the ability to go inside

Perhaps an actual ship marked as debris

debris are marked as turned off when the game first loads from the tracking station.

Yeah but it would be as simple as turning it on and it will be inmidiatly found

I would like tho that the marker apeared once you discover the debris

Although I think this is a fantastic idea, it would be in a way promoting the Martian. (I sound like I don't want it, but I'm trying to show the other side of the argument). I also feel that Easter eggs in KSP are normally related to real spaceflight endeavours that have changed the industry, or KSP related items, eg the Kracken. Although its a great idea its not real and I think Easter eggs should be reserved for only spectacular moments from spaceflight history.
