Reusability mods?

Are their reusability centric mods that add in Landing legs & parachutes & Air bags for sea recovery? At varying sizes?

Not currently updated though for the new game update. Would it still work & would it still be balanced? Also do you know of any current mod that ads in air bags?

most part mods survive game updates. Yes, major updates (like 1.8) can mess with older versions.

As far as balance - that is a personal subjective thing.

Best is to have a separate save game and install to test it there. If if works, great, if it is balanced in your opinion (balanced enough) then even better.

KRE seems to work fine in 1.8. The only pure parts mods that should have issues in 1.8 are those with old DDS DXT3 textures - and most mods don't use that older format, so most of the pure parts mods are safe.

SXT-Continued has inflatable airbags, in 2 sizes IIRC.  They worked pretty well both for landing & as floats in the past, but I haven't used it in a few versions due to a conflict with another mod I use.   Currently listed as 1.7.2 compatible.  Linuxgurugamer has an ungodly number of mods he maintains alone, so I'm sure it will be updated, but it may take some time.

Comfortable Landing also has some inflatable floats and possibly airbags, but I have no experience with that mod.

USI Exploration Pack has both landing airbags & inflatable floats in 3 sizes for each, works good in 1.7.3 but I haven't tried it in 1.8.  The USI mods are well maintained, so I'm sure it will be updated to 1.8 within a few weeks if needed.
