how to play older versions

hello, longtime player here and i want to go back to ksp 1.7.x because most of the mods are not yet updated to 1.8.1 is there a way to do this?

In the version from steam, I believe you can rollback the version to one of your choosing, there's a thread around her somewhere on that.  A lot of players will move the install directory to a location of their choosing so Steam can't update it automatically.    From the KSP store, you can select the version you want to download, there's a list near the bottom of the screen IIRC.  I don't know about other resellers though.
