Features and how to distinguish them

I swear I plundered the Farside Crater of all its Mun Stones looking for a a Mun Crater (mission control says they should be there).

I know the trick of zooming out so you can see a shadow to spot formations, but it quite literally always brings me to a Mun Stone (barring maybe two instances. I gathered probably 30 Mun Stones already and getting a bit frustrated.) Any tip besides "just keep trying"?

(I mean.. in other news I have become extremely proficient in the spotting and subsequential recovery of Mun Stones. Ask me questions.)

In my experience, flying low is inefficient in spoting features. Drive a rover on the surface and they will appear, trust me.

There is also the somewhat dirty trick to lower gfx settings, because at low all anomalies stand out

Or, if you want to go directly to full-on cheating, the debug menu has a checkbox that will point out surface features with big markers.

Try another biome, like Mid- or Lowlands.

I know the feeling, driving around and every dark spot is just a stone or another large crater. Once you've found and scanned a small crater, they'll pop up everywhere from Highlands down into the Canyons
