Hello,

I would like to access and use MechJeb2's aircraft autopilot in IVA with RPM's MFDs. However, I only have those choices when I go in the MJ menu:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/99gf6gofwulld8u/Capture d'écran 2023-03-15 101651.png?dl=0

Is there a way to tell RPM that I would like it to show me instead the MJ's aircraft autopilot menu?

I asked this in MechJeb2 thread and Sarbian told me that it is RPM which handles this.

Here are logs in case they can help:

RPM itself only provides some basic MechJeb integration. However IVA modders can use RPM to add to that functionality, but it's extremely rare for aircraft autopilot functionality from MJ (also MJ airplane autopilots are not great). You're probably better off looking into using kOS and kOSPropMonitor (which provides an in IVA console for kOS), and then looking at something like BakerOS (kOS scripts) or similar that can control Atmosphere Autopilot (which is the best) or possibly Kramax Autopilot (which is good).

I've not found an easy solution to all of this, so I've never really gone that far (it's pretty complex), so I usually just use Atmosphere Autopilot directly.

Note that MOARdV's Avionics System (sort of like RPM, but more complex) has more capable MFDs that include improved MechJeb integration, and some RPM IVA mods include some MJ consoles (eg. ASET). I'd also recommend Reviva ('cos I wrote it) which allows you to try out and switch any supported RPM and MAS IVA while in the editor or even in flight, might help you find something:

There's a bunch of links and information in the Reviva README:

Is this mod compatible with ReStock(+)?

Depends on what you mean: a) does RPM itself work if ReStock (or ReStock+) is installed: yes, absolutely b) are there RPM IVA which work with ReStock and Missing History / Restock+: yes, and in particular look for DE_IVA (adopted) which now combines and covers all of Stock and Missing History with decent IVA which will work too.

The only minor issues I've noticed with things like Restock might be some slight mismatched geometry around windows: the internal IVA are designed to match stock, and restock sometimes slightly moves things - it'll work fine, just you might notice (I rarely do).

Thanks for the fast answer. I've installed the recommended mod. CKAN also helped out with giving more recommendations. One mod called "Reviva" even allows switching between different IVAs, so I can easily try everything out.

I have HullcamVDS, but I'm not sure how to get cameras to show on a display.

Mae sure you have actually placed some of the camera parts on your craft.
Then, it should just be a matter of hitting the "EXT CAM" or External Camera button(s) on the MFDs.

Hi,

First congrats for this amazing mod, I've used it a lot in the past!

Today I decided to play KSP again with version 1.12.5 and I'm experiencing some problems.

As you can see, Navball is not showing in the MFD.

So far I have very few mods installed.

This is the log

Any help, please? Thanks in advance !!

Hey, yeah this is a known issue: https://github.com/JonnyOThan/RasterPropMonitor/issues/89

However the ASET MFDs work just fine - you seem to be using a very ancient IVA layout there.  I'd suggest getting DE_IVAExtension (and its dependencies).

Thank you very much for your quick response!

But I'm quite confused, what do you mean with "very ancient IVA layout?" I just installed RPM and nothing else (apart from graphics mods, etc, only Reviva)

Could you please explain me about DE_IVAExtension, ASET Props, ASET Avionics (vs ASET Consolidated versions), MoardV Avionics Systems, MoardVPlus...? Thank you very much!

@Linderoth For ASET Props & ASET Avionics, you want the ASET Consolidated versions. Those two packs do nothing by themselves. They are libraries of props, "items" that get placed into IVAs.

RPM & MAS are the mods that make them "work", and "do things". (Both RPM & MAS do have their own smaller libraries of props included in them, as well as some basic, example IVAs)

DE_IVA Extensions & MOARdV Plus, are finished IVAs. these are mods that are basically the "maps" or "container", of where people have placed all the props.

Yeah, the IVA layouts that are in RPM are very, very old. Other people have made better IVAs and more interesting props, like DE_IVAExtension and ASET props.  The OP of this thread explains a lot about what you're asking.

Hi everyone,
I have some problems with blurry text in IVA. It's really annoying. I must zoom every time I want to read something on the screens. Any solutions?
Sorry for bad english not my native language

P.S. Problem was in aliasing settings in scatterer

RPM 0.31.12.0 is now available!

Changes

  • Fixed blurry text when playing on lower texture quality settings
  • Fixed a bug where certain props wouldn't turn back on when losing and regaining power
  • Fixed a bug where RPM would prevent ResourceConverters from switching recipes with B9PartSwitch
  • Fixed navball rendering in the JSI MFD
  • Disable DE_IVA mk1-3 patch if it already has warp props
  • RPM will no longer dynamically create RasterPropMonitorComputer modules
  • Remove genericSpace3 patch as it interferes with MAS and ModularLaunchPads
  • Rebuilt variable persistence system so it makes more sense (note Reviva still interferes with this)

Ok I got this mod and the other IVA mods that go with it with all dependencies again and stumbled upon an issue.  I EVA jetpack away from the craft a few hundred meters sometimes and out of render range some other times and it spontaneously explodes. Recreated it on a few attempts and sometimes it didnt happen at all. What I did notice was the craft sinking into the ground as I got within a few hundred meters of it again. I am playing in the beyond home planet pack. The following is the spam from the log I was getting around the time it happened. Any help is appreciated thank you in advance.

The second log spam was a bit before I only put a tiny bit of it.

Hi, please include your entire log file with bug reports.

I'm running into an issue here. I get a bunch of weird warnings while playing.

Also the IVA spazzes out sometimes.

Thankfully no crashes or loading screen warnings. Also there doesn't seem to be any obvious issue with the controls themselves. They seem to function as intended.

I can try to provide the log as well if that helps. I should note I have the following IVA related mods installed:
RastorPropMonitorCore
RastorPropMonitor
Avionics Systems (Moardv)
FreeIVA
KSA IVA
ASET Consolidated Props
ASET Consolidated Avionics Pack
DE_IVA Extension
Reviva
Near Future IVA Props

These are all via CKAN. I have other IVA mods installed, but those are specific to their respective parts mods (Starship IVA, Stockalike Station Parts IVA, etc.). This occured while playing with Restock+ parts. Lastly, I did make an adjustment in Moardv's Avionics systems. I converted one of the patches, 000_JSI-To-MAS.CFG, to a NOCFG, as it was causing problems with a bunch of other IVA's. I hope this helps.

Edit: I should also note that this was after the update.

Please always post logs with bug reports.

The warnings I believe are benign (but I should probably do something about it..) because they are modules trying to reference parts of props that got batched and no longer exist.

Alrighty, sounds good. I can’t  get the log right now as I have shifts over the weekend. I can get it to you Monday if you need it (I hope).
