What editor for kOS?

I'm currently restructuring all the kOS code I've written over the last year or more of playing with it, and up to now have been using Notepad++ with the Kerboscript Bright style addon to highlight code for me.  I originally went with this as I was already familiar with Notepad++, but now is probably a good time to see what other options are worthwhile.

There are several other options mentioned on the Github post about editors https://github.com/KSP-KOS/EditorTools

Someone's suggested using VSCode to me, with a KSP language addon that should automatically pick up my common mistakes like forgetting to put a full stop at the end of the line https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=JohnChabot.kos-vscode

Not being a software developer (I learned programming in Fortran 77 and QBasic!) I'm not familiar with what modern "developer environments" can do compared with basic text editors.  Any recommendations?

I know this isnt *specifically* related to your original question, but while shopping around for different editors, if anyone finds that it comes down to not much difference between NotePad++ and others, and if you also do a lot of config/MM patchi editing/creating as well as kOS  scripting, there's also this superb KSP Config language for NPP which @JadeOfMaar maintains.

Just thought I'd throw that out as a variable, towards going with NPP, if for no other reason vOv

Sheesh, kids these days, it has to be vi of course

Just kidding, Sublime with kOS syntax highlighting plugin...

Unfortunately, last time I checked not all kOS syntax was supported in the plugin. But this is better than nothing.

Know enough vi to get by.  (Not too hard, I've seen editors like that since QEDX.)  But I prefer emacs.

Yeah another vi/emacs dispute incoming. Let me grab my sofa, some popcorn and entertain me, please :)
