Do Kerbals have prefered snack?

1½ inch cubes with the consistency of royal icing and a slightly chocolately taste. Colour can be anything; packets contain a bunch of cubes with random colours and Kerbals trade for their favourites. Most Kerbals like green and dislike purple, so the former always run out on the first day of a mission and the latter are found three days after capsule recovery half-melted under someone's seat.

I feel like Kerbals have this weird duality of being really fun (design and mannerisms) but also really cynical (company activities in part descriptions), so their food might be sweet and cute but also very commercially optimised.

Got to be some kind of ultimate combo, like a chilli dog, wrapped in cheese, deep fried and then coated in chocolate.

Probably topped with sprinkles.

Holy loveeroni Ravioli now that I gotta attempt making, I didn't like my coronary artery being intact anyways

“Snacks” always brought to mind trail mix, pretzels, popcorn and nuts.

“WHO STOLE ALL THE SNACKS?”

Wait you're supposed to put popcorn in trail mix? What the heck rock have I been living under?

Pretzels are horrible, and should never exist.

Dawn is in a few hours, if you wish to pick a suitable beach, island, or woodland clearing.  Bring a second.

Meet me at the top of Mount Everest or the bottom of the Marinias Trench. I need no second.

Why should Kerbal feel sweet taste?
There are no fruits to taste, only trees and sea food. They should distinguish fifty shades of ammonia. So their snacks should be like semi-rotten molluscake in fish sauce.

Wait...
Kerbal snacks.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hákarl

there are no visible life forms in the ocean, which means there is no seafood.

Spoiler

I play on the Xbox. there are no trees.

Spoiler

In fact there is no visible life except grass and kerbals, which means they either eat each other or grass! :D

What are your head canons for what you think Kerbals munch on as we flings them towards the stars?

chips, crackers, alien nuts, small amounts of candy. basically any snack you can think of, but a little different, because aliens.

There was a hand-sized cephalopod in the trailer of (0.22? 0.23?) version.

I presume, it's a Kerbal larva, but anyway it needs its own food and can't find it on land.

Also Kerbals don' use ethanol in rockets. So, they don't have crops and fruits.

or they just don't use ethanol as rocket fuel for various reasons, or their crops can't be used to produce it.

They start career from barn,  and use the parts from the side of the road.
They must start from ethanol

If crops can't be used to produce it, these are not crops, as just a simple carbohydrate are required..

Besides the fact that Kerbals don't have farms and plant, but live in a kilometer from the sea coast.

That don't answer my question

ISP 350 s? Ethanol?

And notice, they start sciencing from running around KSC, i.e. from scratch.

And we can see no low-ISP liquid rockets.

So, they don't have moonshine.

Any farmer would.

So the Kerbin biosphere doesn't contain the carbohydrates in easily extractable, concentrated form.
Like the pre-flower Earth.

Can you eat ferns? They are made of cellulose.
Can you make fern moonshine? Unlikely.

P.S.
"Home, sweet home!" means something other for Kerbals.
