yes

Any farmer would.

but they ain't FAERMERS!

I ain't an expert, but kerbals COULD HAVE somehow never found a way to make ethanol until after they invented rockets, similar to how they didn't invent the steam engine until after they invented rockets.

but if they didn't, and what you said is the true, then they at least still have... NUTS AND SALADS. or not :P

All of this mess of a discussion can be avoided by this one fact: they graze plant matter. Look at their huge, flat single tooth, perfectly designed for leafy greens.

two teeth actually.

And digest?

Impossible, because the ethanol gets automade when a fruit gets sour.
So they never invent it, they discover it while being bacteria and never leave.

Pinecones.

Salads are poor with edible things, nuts appear from flowers. I.e. they go together with fruits and crops.

Tacos. If anyone remembers the first KIS/KAS had tacos. :) Tacos are great!

Depends on what the Kerbals call "tacos".
Maybe a wide seaweed leaf with caviar of sea urchin in fermented worm sauce.

Not that much care. This is a Kerbals' life and death matter, and we have a lot of them.

*tsk* BOI why you so addicted to sugarless seafood?

FINE, they eat avians, salted , dried, or/and cooked incects, and THICC leafy greens because these things aint Human!

Spoiler

Recent thought: They could have seen using ethanol for fuel as a waste of good wine and ROOT BEER, or/and just saw such weak and inefficient engines as useless, and scrapped the designs before the space program started.

Not me. Kerbals.

Did you see any bird on Kerbin? Or their eggs?
Did any Kerbal plane collide with them?

Why do they stay next to the coastline? They have a lot of grass to the W and NW.

Spoiler

Also I believe (see the Kerbal biology thread) the adult Kerbals are ephyra(e) of Kraken, and are sea beings who has occupied the coastline next to the underwater hive where they born and grow before getting to the coast and then to the space.
So, to be focused on the seafood is at least natural for them.

But this is offtopic in this thread.

Do you see cities, or houses, or seeweed, or jebadiah's junkyard?

No? Well I guess none of these things exist. :P

Yes, I'm sure they don't.
As I've described in the biology thread, the Kerbals don't need them, but it's an offtopic in this thread.

  • 2 weeks later...

personally believe that they (I) are a more candy type of species. They might be plant based but I don’t think so. They seem to be the more “hard to get sick” kind of species, and they seem the perfect type of silly to live off of Kit-Kats, Skittles, and maybe the occasional caramel chocolate, those are just... yum. Although even if not, I believe their diet is like 80% unhealthy fat stuff or smthin

no I think like normal taco, but a bit less meat, a bit more sauce, and more cheese.

See the food of Far North peoples who lack fruits and crops and eat mostly fish and meat.

Kerbals should have something like that, and probably like them hardly tolerate a carbohydrate-rich food, though easily eat snacks made of fermented fauna.

In stock KSP, the only mention of them ever eating anything was them trying to taste the surface of Minmus while taking a surface sample.

So they are dirt eaters.  Case closed.

They eat not the dirt itself, but some dwellers of that dirt, like worms or molluscs.

See, they bite the stones like snail shells.
