Also, in the last shot from Vall, does Jool seem more oblate than usual? Or is it just me?

It could be because they want the focus to be on Jool’s day side, cause it’s easier to see, cause they just want to draw more attention to Jool, or because showing which body that was on would show an incorrect perspective and expose the conspiracy that this new Jool isn’t actually a planet but a spherical container of Mystery Goo they’re trying to pass off as improved image resolution.
 

Also, about Jool’s oblateness, I think I see what you’re talking about, but I also think the camera tends to stretch things out that are near the edges of the frame. I doubt oblate bodies is high on the list of things they want to tackle about the planets.
