Help with rotors

So the other day i decided to take Bob Kerman out for a spin in a propeller plane. It’s mission was to fine a surface feature on Kerbin. I built the plane, put it on the runway and....nothing. When I right clicked on the turboshaft engine (the smallest one)  I couldn’t fine a ‘start’ button or anything. Can anyone give me some tips on how to use rotors and props?

Is the torque limit greater than 0?  You can tie an action group to starting the motor as well.

mmm...interesting. I'll have to take a look at that.

How do you toggle action groups?

(I'm not a noob, I just recently switched from console to pc)

Each action group is tied to a key.  The numbered ones tie to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 0, brakes are tied to B, and gear is tied to G.  Press the respective key to toggle them.  I don't know if the console has action groups or not, so here is a quick rundown of how to use action groups:

  1. Open the action group menu (wrench and hammer icon i think).
  2. Select the group corresponding to the key you want.
  3. Click on the part you want tied to the action group.
  4. In the new popup, select what part action you want.
  5. The action should be in the column to the left, you can change settings, if there are any.
  6. Launch the craft, and press the key tied to the action group you just set.

You can also set action groups inflight using the same icon on the toolbar.
