Why don't we ever see kerbals blink?

Fun biology factoid - most of Earth's animals don't have eye lids. Yes, even only counting the animals with eyes. Mostly I'm talking about insects and other arthropods, which are animals ;)

Now if the trailers and other footage show Kerbals having eye lids... I guess they just don't need to blink often? We only have to do it because our silly eyeballs only work while soaking wet, but there's no reason for that to be a successful design in any other tree of life.
