My wheels won't stop turning

I modified one of the stock crater crawlers to suit my play style, managed to land it safely on Eve using cheats (I'm quite new to the game, i'm playing sandbox to wrap my head around the mechanisms before I start a career). Once I'd landed I realised that the crawler was sliding down a sand dune at about 19m/s, the vehicle began to roll and I saw that the wheels were turning.

TL/DR: I'm upside down on Eve and my wheels are turning on their own. I can't stop them please help

Were you out of electric charge? If not then can you provide some screenshots? I don't know if breaking requires ec but to me it sounds like this might be a gameplay mistake not a bug.

Eve has very high gravity so you’ll need to really step on the brakes to stop on a hill- turn on advanced tweakables in the main menu settings and set the brake strength higher on your wheels, and bias the braking towards the rear so you don’t spin/flip/crash whenever you use them.

You’ll also need to check you have power, the wheel motors are actually enabled, a signal to Kerbin (if you have the CommNet switched on) and if all else fails, check the key bindings to ensure that the movement controls and brakes are assigned to the right buttons.
