how to start using mechjeb 2?

Recommended Posts

I decided that I need some help with setting up maneuver nodes for interplanetary transfer. So I am trying to install Mechjeb 2.

Mechjeb version 2.11.0.0; KSP version 1.10.1

I pasted it into KSP/GameData directory.

It doesn't seem to start. No new parts, no new menus, no new buttons.  Is it supposed to add a new button to toolbar, the way AlarmClock and Kerbal Engineer does?

I feel stupid. Am I supposed to activate it somehow?

It looks like your problem may be more of a "how do I install mods" than a "how do I install MechJeb."

So in that vein I'm going to suggest you look into Ckan. It turns mod install and maintenance into a simple job of finding the mod in a list and clicking an install button.

I have installed it just the same way as AlarmClock and Kerbal Engineer - these two both do work.

Unzipped it into gamedata folder. Is it even possible to do it wrong?

Do you have the latest Module Manager?

Did you maybe put the zipped folder inside the gamedata folder?

Check what Gargamel said, if you are on Career you need to unlock it.

If not there should be a Mechjeb button/toolbar top right i think.

You dont need to put a part like the old days as long there is a command pod.

But you can still use them if you want to.

Maybe you have a conflicting mod?I doubt it though.
