Landing Gear Falls Through Terrain, Wheels do not Move Vessel

Recommended Posts

Landing gear will clip through the terrain and the vessel will continue sliding even on the slightest slope. Brakes do not work and wheels will not move the craft. This bug was found on a modded install, but I have met some players that have experienced this on complete stock. Stock and modded landing gear of all types are all affected. Linked is an example of what happens. This is not a friction control problem, If it were, the wheels would still move the craft and they would be on top of the terrain. It happens on 1.9.1 and 1.10.1, testing on 1.8.1.

I must say that the issue mainly seems to occur on interstellar planets.

Are your wheels broken? Broken wheels can sink into the terrain and behave weirdly, although in my experience they tend to have more friction, not less. Send a 3+ star engineer out, stand them beside the gear and right-click it; if there’s an option to repair the wheels, that’s your problem- repair away and you should be OK.

If that doesn’t solve it, you might just have a bad planet mod which isn’t working correctly; try reinstalling those fresh.

The sliding is a stock bug...and sometimes game breaking too, cant scan objects while moving etc....

Try this mod, it solves the sliding problem.
