Recommended Posts

buenas noches ...

If I understand this correctly (based on google translate) you want to attach the smaller ion ship to the launch rocket in the editor? That seems like a really big launcher for such a small payload, you might be better off using a much smaller launch rocket instead or adding another payload and then carrying the ion ship with it.

Open the ion ship and click ‘re-root’ - the fourth button at the top left in the editor- and then select the docking port to make that the root part. Move or rotate those two antennae as they’ll block the docking port from docking to anything. Save the ship.

Open the launch rocket, then click open again. Find the ion ship and click ‘merge’ - you should now have a copy of the ion ship in the editor with your launch rocket. Attach the ion ship to the launch rocket using the docking port either on the top node of the fairing (the ion ship will be upside down if you do this) or enable interstage nodes on the fairing and attach the ion ship to one of those so it points up.

Help to merge designs

good evening ...

my name is mateo ... I've been playing KSP for about 3 months: P, but it had never happened to me I do like this ... maybe because of how noob it is: blush :; I'm still going to the point ...

I have tried to make the design of a rocket in several sections to explore much better Duna the first section consists of a reusable impeller in the style of falcon IX, ..... I share the image here

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eYIwpzDG0BnBi5iCm8CnUdQ_ESGrvD44/view?usp=sharing

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IKqqENLQnyEkE_L-nVPFoyij5bkkm_Em/view?usp=sharing

and I wish to add this little exploration ship

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ex4q9_TrzagoSb648L9A554Ws6mHZcY0/view?usp=sharing

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zxs18FQm-IDFqKmYrWhBXBrEis81tmyD/view?usp=sharing

but for some reason I can't merge the designs, I know someone has already opened the question, I just don't know how to join them ...

I leave my contact in discord in case it is required

Thank you very much in advance for any hint about the solution .....

Welcome to the forum!

I see nothing wrong with the solution that @jimmymcgoochie offered, but I'm not at a computer where I can test it.  I will caution you that the merge command and subassemblies can be finicky and give unexpected results, but so long as you have an open attachment node, it can be made to work.

Also, it may not be my proper place to do this, but you should know that one of the rules here is that you'll need to provide an English translation of your posts when you're posting anywhere other than in the international section.  Google Translate is fine for doing that, but any post you make needs to be readable in English.  I'm sure that a moderator will be along shortly to offer advice (and probably add a translation to your post for you).  They are very friendly and love to help, especially when the issue is unintentional.

Exitos!

Clarke is a much smaller and cheaper rocket that can perform that task without any problem. Maybe you don't want to use a ship you didn't designed yourself but you may still take a look to see what  can be done with a fraction of the cost of your reusable rocket.
