Hello!

Will I release the Ops Summary every Sunday local time for me (It will be Saturday evening/Sunday morning in America) or should I just wait and see when others post theirs here?

I can release my Summary every Sunday at around 6:00pm PHT which is around 6:00am ET on Sunday as well.

If it's not doable, we can coordinate on a fixed time.

Also, can I launch crewed sub-orbital flights early game before I send a probe into orbit?

Thanks!

I think I'll just submit mine every Saturday evening (local time).

Also, I can't find the science penalties and part temperature limit settings in the game settings (when creating the save)

Thanks!

Hello! Can you please clarify some things about mod usage?

1. How heavily modded my install can be? For example I really want to use Near Future Pack

2. I really enjoy Kerbalism Science but it slows down overall progress so will it earn additional points?

3. I use FAR for aerodynamics and this is quite hard. Can I use some kind of simulation mod to test rocket out before actuall flight?

  1. As modded as you like. Just know, you will be put in the modded category.
  2. I will have to do more research before I make a choice on that.
  3. Yes, but you will be but in the modded category.

Thank you for your interest on joining!

Alright! For the username, faction name and number of missions flown, will those be repeated for every summary?

Also, is the number of missions flown referring to the number of missions flown within that week?

Thanks!

I'll be sending my first summary in a few hours.

Faction Name: APEX Orbital

Number of Missions Flown: 11

Mission 1 Details:

Spoiler

Launch Time/ Date/Site: Y1D1 00:00 - 00:07

Payload: Pod only

Mission Primary Goal: Mission essentials Function test

Mission Secondary Goals: Test scientific collection from the kerbal space center and EVA proceedures.

Outcome: Success

Details: Parachutes properly armed, Bill was able to egress from pod and collect science from launch pad and crawler walkway as well as collecting materials goo test. As we thought the material goo doesn't behave any differently outside of the lab on kerbin. Plan to check in several different biomes and if we can in space.

=============================================================================

Mission 2-4 Details:

Spoiler

Launch Time/ Date/Site: Y1D1 00:16 - 00:32

Payload: Science Instruments

Mission Primary Goal: Collect more information from around the KSP in preperations for our first true launch

Mission Secondary Goals: Not explode anything

Outcome: Exploded some things, No buildings or Kerbins lost Mission success

Details: Several short missions utilizing sleds and rocket power to move around KSP to gather science. Very low control lost several engines and even a few fuel tanks before collecting enough science to research and build wheels and Air breathing engines. With these another mission was conducted to drive around and finish gathering all of the new science. Finally have automated core probes available. We may need to revist the space center with the new materials science bay but for now we are going to focus on actually launching rockets upwards.

=============================================================================

Mission 5 Details:

Spoiler

Launch Time/ Date/Site: Y1D1 00:45

Payload: Sputnik - I

Mission Primary Goal: Launch a probe into space, breaking the karmin line

Mission Secondary Goals: Establish an orbit in space

Outcome: Total Mission success.

Details: The mission launched at Kerbin time Y1D1 00:45. The first stage solid stage boosters lit and brought the main solid stage booster and upper stage payload to approximatly 15km. The main booster ignited and brought the apoapsis up to 160km. The ground crew cheered as their primary mission was going to succeed. The focus turned on to the upper stage as they waited allowing the aerodynamic fins to keep the rocket aimed towards space. As the atmosphere thinned stage seperation performed nominally and the upper stage ignited. Small correction burns were performed to position the rocket for its primary burn to establish a horizontal manuver. The only attitude control availabe was the Swival main engine no reaction control wheels were available yet. Primary burn began 1 min before appoapsis to try and gain enough lateral velocity to stay in orbit. The ground crew sat on pins and needles as they watched their delta-v readouts approach 0. While the last few drops of fuel were burned they saw their Periapsis telemetry data no longer read 0 and suddenly shoot to their final orbit of 84km by 180km. They have succeed in makeing orbit

00:48 - broke atmosphere
~00:50 - Achived orbit
~01:10 - completed first orbit

Expected time until battery is depleted 2 hour.

===============================================================================

Money from completed contracts used to update the tracking station, Mission control, launchpad, and VAB

Taking several missions to test various parts landed at KSP or at the KSP for quick money next mission will try and test as many as possible.

Mission 6 Details:

Spoiler

Launch Time/ Date/Site: ~ Y1D1 01:00

Payload: Orion pod, 2.5m heat shield, Juno engine

Mission Primary Goal: Test all parts for various customers

Mission Secondary Goals: None

Outcome: Success

Details: On the launchpad all components were gathered together and attached and all various tests were performed. One unexpected result was when the Orion Reentry pod seperated from the test stand during the test. This is valuable information for the future.

=======================================================================================
Mission 7 Details:

Spoiler

Launch Time/ Date/Site: Y1D1 01:08

Payload: Sky Plane

Mission Primary Goal: First aerodynamic flight vessel

Mission Secondary Goals: Transport pilot to three separate contracts for customer requests. EVA reports near the KSP, and two in flight readings of temperature and crew reports.

Outcome: Partial success

Details: Jeb drove out to the eva sites, noticed some vessel instability and the angle of attack the wings made ended up preventing enough speed to generate the proper lift. Vessel became unstable Jeb aborted and tried to control the vessel for a smooth stop ended up tilting and losing both wing engines. No loss of life.

Mission 8 Details:

Repeat of mission 7 with minor adjustments completion time 01:22 result success

=======================================================================================

additional upgrades to the KSP, research, astronaut complex, sph, and runway.

Mission 9 Details:

Spoiler

Launch Time/ Date/Site: Y1D1 01:31

Payload: Apex - I first crewed orbital launch

Mission Primary Goal: Launch kerbal into orbit return safely with science

Mission Secondary Goals: Conduct science, land within 50 km of KSP splashed down

Outcome: Success Achieved orbit ~ 01:37 MET + 6m

Details: The mission was an overwhelming success. Jeb launched on his two SRB boosters, transitioned over to his 1st stage Reliant engine reaching ~92km with delta-v to spare. Utilizing reaction wheels he aligned for his second burn to apply lateral velocity to achieve orbit. Reigniting his 1st stage engine he applied ~200 more delta-v before stage separation and he transitioned to second stage swivel engine. Not quite enough delta-v to achieve orbit again stage separation to the upper stage engine the 909-terrier. ~ half of the remaining delta-v allowed for orbit at MET + 6m. While on orbit Jeb preformed the first space walk checking his instruments and running science experiments. He then collected those experiments and got ready to perform his deorbit burn. After 20 min on orbit ignited his engines bringing his periapsis down into the atmosphere and prepared to aerobrake. Priming the parachutes he maintained his attitude and performed one more breaking burn before separating his pod from the upper stage getting ready to coast off the shores of the KSP. Landing 31.7km from the KSP Jeb performed a few system checks and took a surface sample of water while waiting for the recovery team to pull him out of the water.
Splashdown 02:17  MET + 45m

======================================================================================
Mission 10/11 Details:

Spoiler

Launch Time/ Date/Site: 02:26 /

Payload: Helio - I / Helio - II

Mission Primary Goal: Launch payload outside of Kerbin SOI

Mission Secondary Goals: Test Terrier 909 on a kerbin escape trajectory.

Outcome: Failure first mission. Rapid unplanned disassembly. Second mission Success

Details: First launch was overwhelmed by aerodynamic forces early in the atmosphere causing instability in the flight. Lost 1stage engine during SRB seperation unrecoverable.

Second mission with reduced thrust of SRBs and Stage one ignition for additional maneuver control the rocket reached space and began its exit burn. ~2000 delta - V for the probe to be placed on an escape trajectory. Leaving kerbin SOI is expected 1 day 10 hours from now.

expected leaving Kerbin SOI Y1D2 12:26.

I might conduct more missions today but I will probably just put them onto next weeks mission report. I might be later in the day saturday or sunday on next mission report I have an event going on most of the day.

Hello!

@NH04, KSC time for that should be at Y1, D1, 00:13:35 (hr/m/sec). Sorry if I caused any inconvenience by using the time you see in "Flight view" when controlling your craft.

How do you see KSC time from your "Flight view"? Can you only see it in the Space Center view?

Thanks! :)

Oh, ok!

By the way, how do you get an "excerpt" from a person's post? (Get a part of their whole post content, like what you did above)

Thanks!

P.S. I'll be redesigning my Operations Summary (still using the details @NH04 gave) to make it more "aesthetic". I'll also be placing each mission (ex. Mission 1, Mission 2) in their own spoiler to reduce post length.
