Engines don't work in career, work fine in science and sandbox

Recommended Posts

After hearing KSP 2 was delayed until 2023 i decided to start up a new career game, but when i build my first rocket, it didn't work. I hear the sound of the engine igniting, but i get no thrust. made the exact same ship in a sandbox game and a science game and it worked fine in both. any ideas?

do modded engines work? or is it all engines that don't work?

also have you tried slowly removing certain mods to find the confliction? This will take a while but i'd suggest to put mods in a folder and put some mods in that folder, restart the game until it works. also try adding alot of funds in a seperate career save to see if its something with fuel and mods and it might be a funds issue. try these and tell me if it works. if it dosen't i think you should talk to some more knowledgeable people on the forums.  Also try moving all mods to a seperate folder and run a stock game on a seperate folder, if the engines still don't work it must be an error with the game itself and you should reinstall it. Also did the engines stop working as soon as you started the game or after you installed some certain mods? Let me know if my ideas work.

ALSO KSP 2 GOT DELAYED??? AAAAA

uninstalled all my mods and re-verified my kerbal install, engines work fine. reinstalled all my mods, and tried out a bunch of different engines, none work, both modded and vanilla, including lfo engines, jet engines, and srbs. now begins the painstaking process of slowly reinstalling mods. at least ksp doesn't take 10 minutes to load when i don't have them all installed.

it seems like all engines, but i'll take your advice to try making a new career save with extra funds and science, then try removing mods 1 by 1. also will try a vanilla save.

Don't remove them one by one, that will take forever!   Remove half, see if the engines work.   If they do, you know the issue is in the other half.   Keep narrowing it down by halves until you find the culprit.

about half reinstalled, it's not any of nerteas mods thankfully, i probably wouldn't bother playing if it was.

So my advice would be to copy the mods you installed to another folder if you have space to easily copy them to your gamedata folder if installing everything dosen't work.

so i've got it fixed, all i had to do was update to the experimental build of persistent thrust. i did somehow manage to turn on a thrust overlay that i can't figure out how to turn off (it's not the f12 overlay) anyone know how to fix this?74581755089BC1C51AFA3AA1FA1A3C65662F3ECE

you gotta just press buttons like ctrl shift and then something just scramble with those keys until it works
