future orbit inclination

Recommended Posts

hi, I'm trying to correct the inclination of a maneuver node, eyeballing the dashed purple line matching with another orbit of which I know the inclination is 0°,
but I can't get the precision I want.

So is it possible to know in advance the inclination of a future orbit?

Yeah, it's quite simple, seeing as you have KER. Just open the BURN tab on the toolbar, and it should give you the specifics of your orbit after the burn.

oh! Thanks! now I see, the "Post-burn Inclination", it is surely very useful when I do some gravity assist flyby,
but in this case.. don't know how to explain.. it gives me the new inclination always relative to the Sun and not to Eve.
see the difference(2° vs 0,5°) in the following ss:

You've got to do it while you have a maneuver. I believe it will go to the last visible patched conic. Just create a burn of 0.0 m/s to get the tab open.

excuse me so much but I can't get it, it's all there:
ss1 = the maneuver node
ss2 = maneuver executed
ss3 = the probe has reached Eve SoI and the inclination in now relative to eve.

You are looking for [Post-burn Rel. Inclination]. AFAIK KER don't display it by default, you need to set it.

isn't [Post-burn Rel. Inclination] the item just below [Post-burn Inclination]?
it seems KER displays it by default.
as value, it displays nothing else than N/A... not applicable?

edit: ah ok now I got it, I have to select Eve as a target in order to show it.
Problem Solved. Thanks
