kylelander's guide to installing Real Solar System and Realism Overhaul on KSP 1.10.1

Hello there.

I've seen a lot of threads asking how to and is RSS/RO supported on KSP 1.10.

Well, after 36 hours of me banging my head on the wall, here's the "kylelender's guide to installing RSS/RO on KSP 1.10"

Step 1: Download Jesus Rodriguez Valencia's RSS visual pack (found here), and copy the contents into your GameData folder.

Step 2:Launch the game, and close it when you reach the main menu.

Step 3  (Optional) :Install Katniss' Cape Canaveral (Found here)

Step 4: Open CKAN and install RealismOverhaul

Step 5: Verify if everything works

Step 6: Install your mods

Step 65:Enjoy!

Questions:
Q: I can only see half the space center! The rest is all black!
A:Reinstall RSS
Q: The game doesn't load!
A1: Check what mod the game is still loading, delete it, run the game and see if it loads, then reinstall the problematic mod.
A2:Be patient. If it doesn't load in 10 minutes then a mod is causing it.(If so, Refer to A1.)

I did it as stated but i just get the infinite loading screen where its a black screen thay says loading in the bottom right with the planets going aroumd the sun really fast.

Does MM report an error?

You can show me your Player.log and i might be able to help

I would not recommend trying to get RO to work on 1.10. It is not officially supported. Expect things to break or bug out. There's not much to be gained from moving from 1.8.1 to 1.10 though.

Yes. Only mild performance gains are expected, and please do not contact Jesus Rodriguez Valencia for support, this is a highly experimental pack and is not official.

Its because of katniss cape canaveral, i uninstalled it and it works fine now.

I've done something similar on 1.11 with the bare minimum. It's buggy but runs, trying to figure out Realism Overhaul, now that is something else ;-)

when i downloaded the RSS pack, it gave me a notepad with a file size of 1.91 GB. I don't think i can so anything with this notepad, and i tried downloading it multiple times and still kept getting a massive notepad. what can i do?

I have uninstalled all of my mods and downgraded KSP to 1.10.1. When I download the RSS visual pack and put it into the gamedata folder, RSS does not load when I start the game. It just loads the default planets.

i have an issue where i cant fill rpopellant tanks, as in when i right click on the tank, with an engine attached to it, the option to fill the tank with fuel doesnt appear. does anyone know a solution to this?
