KSP 1.11 fails to load (Mac OSX) Unity error?

I've just downloaded KSP 1.11 onto my Mac (OSX 10.9.5).
The app starts to load then crashes back to the desktop with an error message than implies that there is something missing in the Unity Player.
I'm assuming this is part of the KSP download rather than something I have to install separately (I've been a KSP'er since 2013, never had this problem before.)
I can't find anyone else having reported this issue - is it known?
