Compressed light tube?! (or black hole devices?)

Recommended Posts

Lets assume for one moment maybe the speed of light is not a physical limitation(assuming that is even relevant.)

If it could be surpassed physically, could you then have it compress like other things into a small area and cap it and use it for things like conductors, capacitors, batteries, processors, etc?!

I assume you would have to go past the speed of light or do something else to compress it into a container or some sort. Could you do this with a black hole base battery?

Could you potentially make a very small black hole and fill it with so much light or other matter than it can then spit out in relation to what is input and use it for various tasks including processing. Then maybe very complex process could be made. And possibly even self powered, or with very long life spans. That or very power hungry. Maybe an equilibrium could be found to let it be used in such a way.

Even if pure light could be contained on it's own couldn't you measure and predict heat and other emissions and use it to compute on some level. Or as other sources of machinery or likewise.

Ummm, you can't throw one part of physics away without throwing it all away, but...

What? I have no idea what you are trying to convey.

Are you talking about a kugelblitz? Yes you can do that.

Sure, you can make a kugelblitz, dunno why you want to power a computer with it though...

You can shove a huge amount of light into a perfectly reflective container without throwing out the speed of light, you just need perfect or almost perfect mirrors (and we do have perfect mirrors in labs, but their only perfect in narrow wavelengths.) Just line all of the sides of the container with these mirrors.

Best mirrors reflects something around 99.999 %. They have also a limit how high field can be. There are many applications of highly reflective optical cavities but any practical energy storage is not possible.
