Make a part decouple itself 1 second after a button is pressed in its menu

I am creating a "Mass to energy" converter. It contains 10 units of Liquid Fuel. When the part is right-clicked to open a menu, there is a button called "Convert." When the button is pressed, I want the part to decouple itself one second later. Is this possible, and how would I do this?
