All stock parts with structure that would logically offer a handhold should have the same modules as a Ladder as a stock default. Change my mind.

I'm thinking cubic, octagonal, and other more complex struts (simple strut connectors would be great but as the collision situation is different I don't think it likely to happen).  But the key point is that this shouldn't require a patch or a mod.  It should just be stock default.  It is silly that a kerb can't hang on to a reticulated structure with cross members well within the "ladder rung" size range.  Having climbed quite a few triangulated small radio towers without a ladder, in full earth gravity, as part of wifi work, this aspect of the game really breaks the mood at times

Definitely a grab option. Climb as per ladders...would make ladders even more pointless than they are already.

oh yeah.  A rider to this suggestion:  FIX existing Ladders/Kerbals so your kerb can climb out without falling off and also so that your kerb doesn't strangely reverse climb direction at transitions between ladders
