Who needs a fake pond when you can spawn a craft directly into the real ocean?

Based on the orbital construction clamp they've shown in most recent video, and given that we'll be able to build various craft on colonies, I can't imagine it would be too difficult to build your own dock wherever you like.

It would mean support for mountain lakes and bodies of water above sea level if the pond was there with actual water

in some footage we have seen the ksc from above and there doesnt seem to have the same layout and you cant see a pond but you can see water around the launch pads. i guess its for cooling or something but you are probably able to go in it. i do think it is connected to the ocean so the water is real.

First thing I'm doing in ksp 2 is crashing into the VAB
