What do these green lines from Kerbin to my spacecraft orbiting Mun mean, please?

Hi KSP colleagues,

I am orbiting Mun in a fairly circular orbit approximately 65 km from its surface.

You will notice the green lines extending from Kerbin to my orbiting ship (although the lines are not extremely clear in this screenshot).

Could someone kindly explain to me what these lines mean.

Those are for the CommNet communications network. They show the connections between your craft and Kerbin.

See that icon in the top left corner closest to the right that looks like a craft, 2 satellites, and a planet with those green lines? That allows you to cycle between no CommNet visualization, first hop, and the entire network (and maybe one more option. It has been a little while since I have played KSP)

Thank you.  I see -- the CommNet.

The Communications Network is one of the next things that I want to learn in KSP.  I don't really understand it or how to use it.
