New launch sites. Gimmick or Feature

I've visited all the new launch sites (will reveal them in a week,) and flown a rocket into orbit. But I wanted to know what people felt about these new sites. Do you feel like they are a feature or a gimmick?

What's the difference?  Is a gimmick just a feature that you don't find useful?

Merriam-Webster has multiple definitions for the word gimmick, but I assume you’re going with “a trick or device to attract business or attention.”

New launch sites are very exciting, and with different latitudes can offer new launching challenges. So I’m going with feature.

”But we already have three extra launch sites.”

”But only if you bought Making History”

Yeah, I'm gonna say feature (though... I probably won't vote... I'm weird I guess). Previously extra launch sites were only with Making History and, in my understanding, these new ones are available without the DLC. It adds interesting things to the game. The discovery aspect of it... you could maybe say that's a gimmick to get people to explore Kerbin more, but I don't think that's really an issue.
