How am I gonna land this, again?

land that as segments and connect them.

It doesn't work. I don't like the aesthetic of wheels on my bases, unless they provide a lot of functionality, (see the fuel tank.) And due to this, when the landing gear is deployed, the wheels don't reach the ground.

Saturn V first stage and moar boosters

I like that idea, but how would I get it down?

So, I forgot that I would be launching the fuel tank in a separate launch, and it was much easier to just add 4 vectors and balance thrust limiters.

I apologize for the inconvienence.

you can always remove the wheels in eva construction mode.

where do you need to land that, exactly? on minmus is would be not too complicated, on mun much harder.

well, either way, i would strap some rockets underneath, and remove them once done with the landing. maybe a few radial ones on the sides would work even better, you don't have to worry about the base landing on top of the engines.

Method used by many:

Launch in pieces and construct in space above landing site.

Add boosters with decouplers to your design for landing (chutes if there was an atmosphere).

Add sturdy landing legs.

As stated use throttle limit to balance.

Once landed decouple and shoot off boosters to never never land.

Turn off all reaction wheels to prevent the Kraken from exploding base components.

P.S. Assembly on surface sucks unless you have a tested and tried system for aligning docking ports.
