What do you think about Jeff Bezos suing NASA?

That's the intention

I think the intention is to jam their foot in the door before Starship functions at any level. Once SS is a thing, their own lander is an overpriced toy, and it clearly makes no sense to use it. If they have a contract in place, it gets to be built even though it will be silly. Imagine the astronauts given a choice, do you want to spend a week+ on the Moon living/eating/eliminating with 3 other people inside something the size of an SUV, or would you prefer to go and bring a 4 bedroom house with you?

Or think about trying to sell that to NASA. "Yeah, we're offering a tiny faction of the capability, but it's only 3X the price!"

The speed at which SpaceX develops things is incredible. Bezos is right with wanting to get in now. A year from now SpaceX is probably already landing on the moon. ULA has a "proven track record" argument to justify higher costs. BO has pretty much nothing. If you can't compete on price, or merit, go to court!

There is an old legal adage that says, "If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts; if you have the law on your side, pound the law; if you have neither the facts nor the law, pound the table."

Unfortunately, I think that BO is pounding the table at this point.

Surely congress would put an end to such waste of money if it’s pointless.

Right? Right?

[sound of crickets]

BO is ULA in a New Space get-up.

Really unfair to ULA. ULA builds and flies highly capable vehicles with high reliability. BO flies nothing substantial at all, and is not on track to demonstrate they are even capable of it for a few years.

They are going beyond that, and bringing in their best lobbyists.
