I'm doing a study on distance from water and plant variety and my teacher is requiring that we reference a previous study for our conclusions. Can y'all point me in the right direction or send me a study that I can use?

I know most Dendrology (Study of Trees) texts will cover this subject.   Some trees like water, some prefer hills.    Location from water was one of the tools we used to help identify a species.
