KSP "#autoloc_8004246" meaning

Recommended Posts

It is likely a missing or malformed Localization text reference.  In order to support multiple languages, we replace the text strings with a reference to a localization file entry.  I recommend you provide a log file so someone can see what error is being generated and provide you support.  Typical rule:  no log, no support.

Show me thy great method of decoding autoloc errors

Sure, I ran this from a shell in my game folder:

But I'm guessing that won't work for you; if your game doesn't know the translation, then your dictionary.cfg may be missing or corrupted.

Don't worry, it worked. I saw the dictionary.cfg myself from the picture and the Craft incompatible is a great thing to see.

Jeb's happy :)

If you see #autoLOC_(numbers) then it’s a sign that your KSP install is a little bit broken, or maybe a lot.

If you installed the game via Steam, first back up your saves (copy+paste to desktop) then uninstall and reinstall KSP via Steam, disable Steam cloud sync for KSP (right click KSP > Properties > untick the Steam cloud check box) and then verify local files (with the KSP Properties window open, click “Local files” then “verify integrity of game files”) to make sure that you have a pristine copy of KSP. Then right click KSP > browse local files, make a copy of the Kerbal Space Program folder and paste that outside Steam’s folders, and put your mods into the copy.

If you aren’t using Steam, I still suggest uninstall/reinstall (with a fresh download) to fix this issue; Steam has a nasty habit of corrupting modded KSP though which is why I mentioned that first- never mod your Steam copy of KSP!
