Hello

I launched today a manned mission to Titan. The payload to titan is a 50T living base, fully equipped for science and drilling. More than 10 kernels can live there on Titan ground, make science, drill, and make LFO.

The second payload is an Automated Electro Rocket Spaceplane for Titan exploration - electric mod- and Earth Return - Electric and rocket mod.

2 giant rockets are launching the payload to orbit - total payload is around 200T each, the rocket for injection to Titan being part of the payload. For the Spaceplane Titanium, there's a return Vehicle included that will wait around Titan. For the Titan base, there's a ScanSat Satellite included.

Total weight of each launcher is around 7100T. First stage with lateral boosters works with RealScaleBooster RS25 LFO engines. there's no mod to modify engines and/or tanks weight and performance. Second stage works with Liquid Methane engines.

The rocket to travel to Titan are Ram fusion drive engines from OPT mod that combines LFO with Electric devices. Last part of each rocket is full of NearFutureelectrical RTG to comply with there need of high electric power.

The Titanium spaceplane is fitted with 4 Firespitter electric engines and a cargo hold full of RTG. It allows a very good endurance provided you you are not always flying full throttle.

Here is the Titanium with its OPT rockets on the top of the launcher

With its passengers section, 6 Kerbals can use it to fly back to Earth. Desorbiting and flying down to Titan ground is easy. Atmosphere is so thick that there is no need for breaking and no heating risk. Climbing to orbit is much more difficult to manage because due to heating you cannot accelerate to much before 150-200kms. Electric engines are fitted to radiators and can be used up to 170-180 kms, then the Nuclear Engine lightbulb will push the spaceplane to orbit. We do not need to much LF to perform this 7600 DV climb and that allows a very low weight for the spaceplane.

Titan Base and Titanium are fitted with KAS pipe so that Titanium can be refueled with the Liquid fuel produce by Titan Base. Titan being very far from Sun, Solar array are no use here, even NearFutureElectrical solar Array are not very efficient, that's we the Base is fitted with RTG.

Can an administrator change my topic to Mission report?

Hi there. Nice mission and it sounds like a fun concept!

The usual way to do this is to post your thread here and ask for it to be moved:

However, I hit the Report button (three dots on the upper right) on the top post and left a note to alert the moderators that you want it moved. ("Report" around here just means, "Hey, can a moderator please look at this?")

After un long travel Titan is Reaching Saturn

YO38ZgC.jpg

The pilot will perform an orbit around Saturn with a Periapsis near Titan's Periapsis around Saturn, Then inclination will be set to be in the same plan than Titan

FJSnFuE.jpg

Orbit around Saturn is established around 1 300 000 kms and Titan orbit is captured like a space Rendez vous . Scan satellite is dropped to scan Titan and find a way point near water with enough Ore to drill the ground.

The very long descent to Titan ground begins after des orbiting. There's no fear for overheating, du to slow orbiting speed and very dense atmosphere aerobraking is very efficient and very long.

Landing is a success and the first Kerbal walk on Titan is the pilot.

Great jump for Kerbality! The crew members will be occupied with science while waiting the Spaceplane Titanium that will allow to explore Titan surface and then fly back home.

There's no water here! , Temperature is -177°C and what Scansat see is frozen water underground. Lakes we can on mn 3 on vid is Liquid Methane lakes
