Note: GGE and GGE-Moons are now integrated with KSRSS!

Unlike most mods I can send a thousand screenshots and you still won't understand the beauty of this mod.

So here's two videos!

Still confused?

This mod includes a variety of other features such as:

-16k Textures with 6 bands for Jupiter.

-16k Textures with 8 bands for Saturn.

-10k Rings for Saturn.

-4k Textures for Uranus with 4 bands.

-8k Textures for Neptune with 5 bands.

-All bands utilize UV Noise causing them to wiggle and move over time.

-Tilt for Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune.

-New optional rings for Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus.

-Scatterer fixes for KSRSS's gas giants.

-Fixes Titan in KSRSS.

-Full revamps of Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.

I understand this works in 2.5x scale KSRSS as well.  Just a small point but CKAN requires RSS as a dependency - can that be made a recommendation instead?

Will do! I'm sort of in a bind with KSRSS atm, it's just getting generally annoying to support it. That being said I don't plan on dropping it yet.

And I (and I'm sure many others) appreciate the support - it's a great compromise for experiencing the solar system using our favourite parts mods without having to go down the rabbit hole of full scale RSS support.

This mod is great!
Here's one advice: Can you make the big red spot on Jupiter, the big black spot on Neptune, and other various storms, spinning? It will look even better if they do.
I am looking forward to the next release!
@ballisticfox0

Thanks! Sadly I don't think there is a good way to have them rotate. That being said I do have a few ways that I might be able to do it, but they are sort of hacky so they'll take time off of what I really want to do which is remaking the Galilean Moon's configs.

Amazing work, would you consider editing these to work with JNSQ?

I may at some point but due to JNSQ's license I don't think it would be possible to release them.

Thinking about starting rp1 with this, with the goal of eventually trying to colonize the Jovian system.  Will this work out with rp1?

Normal GGE should work with no issues since it’s just some eve configs

GGE-Moons may break the late game contract system since it deletes the bodies and adds them back in. They are under the same body name so that should be good though. That’s the only way I think it can break things.

speaking of GGE-Moons… prerelease 1 is out. Currently only for rss but ksrss is planned soon.

  • 3 weeks later...

Well... it's 50/50 how thrilling.

I decided to go with Iapetus because, and no offense to the Rhea fanboys, it's just generally cooler.

Textures are a little rough because, surprisingly there isn't actually a lot of good data out there.

Next up will be Rhea then I'll do another poll for Tethys and Dione.

And remember this is just the first of probably 3 texture "passes" I'm going to do so nothing here is final. That being said I do need suggestions on what you think is subpar.

Well now that I'm back from holiday, I finished up Rhea!

Not super happy with it as I couldn't create a good heightmap but oh well.

That leaves Tethys, Dione and Titan left so I set up a new poll for you guys.

I'm going to do Titan last for... reasons, so it's not in the poll.

This is  a very underrated mod, I've never seen visual mods that use the UVnoise thing that this does for moving and shifting gas giant bands! I'm not a RSS or KSRSS user, but still great work on this!

Thanks!

WOW!   Just wow!   This looks absolutely stunning!   Amazing work!      I seeing this on KSRSS and it made my otherwise routine resupply to Titan have amazing scenic backdrops.    Definitely makes the outer plants look stunning!
