Hiding 2/3 Kerbals on the bottom right of the screen... ugh.

Ran all the way to Duna with the Mark1-3 command pod to pick someone up.

Checked bottom right of screen and saw only 1 Kerbal onboard before take off, great!

Get all the way there before I notice 3 Kerbals on board and they're hidden at the bottom right of screen.

Time to draw straws. 

It's been a long time since I messed with settings but doesn't it default to showing 3 of the kerbals aboard? Did you change something?

That depends on your screen resolution and UI size settings- mine defaults to showing two.

When launching crewed vessels, the game seems to default to filling the first part if there are free Kerbals in the Astronaut Complex. You should always check the crew tab in the VAB before launching to make sure you don't have any unwanted stowaways.
