potentially shady mod on space dock (might be breaking licenses and does not provide source code or much info on what exactly the mod entails) (would not recomend downloading this so do not)

Credits to everyone who made these mods, I can't be bothered to list them all here"

That mod is in the .ckan file that contains the majority of the mods in the pack. The bundled mods are only the ones that the uploader thought (wrongly, in some cases) were not in CKAN.

thank you for the info, (to clarify though its still shady and an issue clearly due to violating license's and all that but that clears that part up)

quick question, what happens if you break a license? He also says they are not on CKAN, theres a text file whihc says so. Thats just a little contradictory

The text file is a list of mods to add, to make the pack, which *ARE* on ckan... you can use that file to download/install the mods from ckan.
the ones in the folders that are included, are the ones *NOT* on ckan...

Technically the license is a contract where the original content author expresses how they wish their work to be distributed. Not obeying the license is at the very least morally dubious and depending on what country you live in may be illegal. Some countries are much stricter about copyright/licensing violations than others. Failing to follow the licensing terms could also be a breach of the rules of conduct on many KSP community web sites. The modding community is built largely on a web of trust that author's work and rights will be respected.

however this license tells people it's okay to do that even though mods within it say basically the opposite.

Yeaahhh... unfortunately, its up to the material owner/licensee to pursue license violations on their material.

Which usually takes $$ for research, fees, court costs & *lawyers*.... Hobbyists usually dont have those inds of resources, so many violations cant/wont be pursued...

Unfortunately, licensing your material, is lie putting a padlock on your garage door... If someone is *determined* to get in there, it wont take much, so a padlock is really only there to keep honest people honest... Doesnt do much for determined criminals

As far as I understand, this is misrepresentation. A completely different beast that can bite in completely different ways.

I don't use spacedock beyond anonymously reading from there. Does the site have a function "report this mod for doing bad things (copyright, virus, etc)" for logged in users? If yes those of you with accounts should report that mod.
