Anyone ever see 10000.00m/s in your 'Needed DeltaV' before?

Question

I'm trying to construct my first Nuclear Engine ship. Because the engines are so heavy, I flew them up first, inverted, on top of a large booster. Four NURV, on one of those quad-mounts. The booster I used is long established as a sub-assembly. I've been using it for more than two thirds of my game. The Nuclear motors are offline, the craft is in stable orbit. So is the next section, ready to be put together. (Connections made with Sr Docking Clamps, if that matters)

And yet when I try to arrange a rendezvous with the next section, for some reason every manoeuvre, no matter how slight, is listed as needing 10,000 Delta-V. Also, the countdown is set to 20 seconds, and the countdown doesn't change.

Is this a glitch, a setting error, or have I done something really wrong here?

have you tried closing and reopening the manuever node? there are glithces that can be fixed like that.

by the way, because they are so heavy nervs are only convenient with a large ship and low thrust. if you have to send them up separately, it means they are heavier than the rest of the ship. in which case it's not convenient to use them
