Interstellar? IN STOCK?

I recently tried to go interstellar in stock and I was able to get my trajectory to outside the Kerbol system but is there a border which you can't cross as the craft is instantly destroyed? Has anyone else done this before?

As far as I know, stock KSP is not normally able to generate trajectories which depart Kerbol's SOI (Sphere of Influence).  At very great distances from Kerbol the game likely does some strange things.  Destruction of your craft might be one of those strange things.

@Andrew the Astronaut, I play with a few star mods and some of the stars are way out there. I'm not sure where the "edge of the universe" is in KSP, but now you've given me a new challenge. And here, after playing the game for 11 years, I have a new one!

as far as i know, you just keep going on and on. people have waited hours at maximum time warp, and the ship kept going on in the nothingness

It appears that nothing like a wall or something happens, whether you go far or very far away from Kerbol; however, due to the way KSP represent decimal numbers, there will be a point where the orbits are going to start shaking in map view, then if you go further they'll go square and all weird, even further and all the planets will be overlapping.

Reloading a quicksave in which you're on the surface of Kerbin will, if the orbits are "squared", give very weird terrain generation.

It goes on for as far as a computer can count - probably as far as you can get until the craft's coordinates hit the 64 bit integer limit. You can try Hyperediting out to some ridiculous distances and speeds, but after a limit the game bugs out in ways that can usually only be fixed by restarting it.

Creeped me out when I first heard people reporting about this. If I could just remember where I saw people saying this.

Ok, so KSP can literally just go infinitely, there is no inivisible wall, the only barrier is how far you can go before your computer cant handle it anymore
