Kerbals cannot be hired and Jeb is the only kerbal that can fly a vessel.

Recommended Posts

In my modded career, jeb is the only kerbal available in a vessel. I can't remove him nor add a different kerbal. I checked the astronaut complex and it says that 10 kerbals (which I don't even have yet) are on a mission, yet none are displayed. Recruits are listed, but cannot be hired. Also, the hire cost is 0, apparently. As well as this, one kerbal on the hire list says "Aldbin Kerman:

XP Trait

Line 2

Line 3"

Any idea on what mods may cause this, or if something happened to the game itself?

UPDATE: Even worse now, no buttons actually work. I can't leave the VAB!

Did you recently uninstall a mod that had it's "own" kerbal traits?

If so, then there are likely "applicant" kerbals in the roster of your persistent.sfs that have one of these removed traits. The Astronaunt Complex, and the assign kerbals functions in the SPH/VAB are broken until these applicants with now invalid traits are removed from the file.

Okay....I have custom barn kit installed. Could that be the problem?

Ok. Thanks for the help. I figured out the problem. I tried science mode: no problem. Sandbox mode: No problem. Turns out that that save alone has always been weird (Don't know why, really). I started a new career (Wasn't really that far into the other one, anyways). The problem is now fixed. Thanks for the help. If I run into any future problems, I will use your advice.
