Particle effects need "Part Tools" and "Unity" in order to be configured. Can't currently be done using the .mu plugin in blender. Look for mods that have their own custom effects and then see if you can contact the author for help. The tools links haven't been maintained in the forum but hopefully authors who use them may be able to help.
